Metric

Metric é uma banda canadense de New Wave / indie rock. Originalmente formada em 1998 na cidade de Nova York, porém atuante em Toronto, Ontário(Canadá). A banda é constituida por vocalista Emily Haines (vocal e sintetizadores), guitarrista James Shaw, baixista e baterista Josh Winstead Joules Scott-Key. Seu primeiro álbum foi "Old World Underground, Where Are You Now?" lançado em 2003; o segundo trabalho foi o "Live it Out" lançado em 4 de outubro de 2005 e indicado para o Polaris Music Prize de 2006 para a categoria de melhor álbum canadense do ano, obteve também uma indicação de melhor álbum no Juno Awards (Premiação Canadense); e por último lançaram o "Grow Up and Blow Away" em 2007. Emily Haines e James Shaw também já tocam com o grupo "Broken Social Scene", Haines também participou como convidada nos álbuns de Stars. KC Accidental, Delerium, The Stills, e Jason Collett.
